Gratitude Challenge: Thanksgiving Day Wellness Practices

5 Mindful Thanksgiving Habits:

  1. Morning Gratitude Walk: Start your day with a 20-minute walk, reflecting on your blessings.
  2. Hydration First: Drink a full glass of water with lemon and chia seeds if you have them before your meal.
  3. Plate Mindfulness: Fill half your plate with vegetables.
  4. Slow Eating: Take 20-30 minutes to enjoy your meal, putting your fork down between bites.
  5. Family Movement: Organize a post-meal family walk or active game. Avoid the food coma!

Healthy Thanksgiving Recipe: Cauliflower "Mashed Potatoes"

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cauliflower head
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • Roasted garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chives for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Steam cauliflower until very tender.
  2. Blend with yogurt, butter, and garlic.
  3. Season to taste.
  4. Garnish with chives.

Check out my favorite protein shakes here: Protein Shakes. They are plant based and low glycemic. Very tasty! All the smoothies will use this protein powder in the recipe. Alternatives to using it are available but this is what is recommended. Adding more fruits and veggies into your day has tremendous affects on your health. Keeping sugars down is important too, so with this being low glycemic you won't spike your blood sugar.
