Tired, Bloated, or Blah? Let’s Fix That Gut & Adrenals Together.
Published about 24 hours ago • 3 min read
Hello Healthy Hub Fans!
Last month, we focused on heart health, checking in on how we are doing physically and emotionally. This March, I want to talk about two systems that often dictate our daily energy and mood: your gut and your adrenal glands.
If you’ve been feeling a bit "tired but wired," dealing with stubborn bloat, or just feel like your "get up and go" has got up and left, I want you to know: you are not behind, and you are definitely not alone. There is no judgment here, only a fresh opportunity to do something simple and kind for your body this spring.
A 4-Week “Lucky Gut & Steady Energy” Challenge
You can start this any week in March. Think of it as a gentle reset to help you feel more like you again.
Week 1 – Feed the Good Bugs Your goal: Add one "probiotic" or "prebiotic" food to your plate daily.
Probiotics (The Workers): A scoop of Greek yogurt, a splash of kefir, or a side of sauerkraut.
Prebiotics (The Fuel): Onions, garlic, bananas, or oats.
This helps your microbiome (your "second brain") support your immune system and your mood.
Week 2 – The "PFF" Adrenal Strategy Your goal: At least two meals a day, ensure you have Protein, Fiber, and healthy Fat.
Your adrenals hate blood sugar spikes and crashes.
Example: An egg (Protein) with spinach (Fiber) and avocado (Fat) tells your adrenal glands, "We are safe and fueled."
Week 3 – The 5-Minute "Calm" Break Your goal: 5 minutes of intentional nervous system "rest."
Stress is the #1 enemy of both your gut and your adrenals.
Try deep belly breathing, a short walk without your phone, or sitting quietly with a cup of herbal tea. When your mind calms down, your digestion works better.
Week 4 – Get Curious, Not Critical Your goal: Notice your energy patterns.
When do you feel most tired? When do you feel most bloated?
Jot it down. We aren’t looking for perfection; we’re looking for clues so we can make better choices that actually work for your life.
Lucky Green Gut-Loving Smoothie
This is a great example of how we can support our adrenals with Vitamin C and healthy fats while giving our gut the fiber it craves. Plus, it’s festive!
Ingredients:
1 cup Spinach (Magnesium for the adrenals)
1/2 Avocado (Healthy fats for hormone support)
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt or Kefir (Probiotics)
1 cup Frozen Pineapple or Mango (Vitamin C)
1 cup Coconut water or Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 scoop of Juice Plus+ Vanilla Complete for a protein boost.
Instructions: Blend until creamy and smooth. This is a perfect "on-the-go" breakfast that keeps your energy stable all morning long.
Bridging the Gap on Busy Days
I always encourage getting as many nutrients as possible from whole foods, but I also live in the real world. I’m a busy woman who has navigated a 50lb weight loss journey, I know that some days our plates look like a rainbow, and other days... they just don't.
That’s why I’m so excited to introduce the Juice Plus+ SuperBiome system this month. It’s a 2-step approach designed to support that "inner garden":
The Prebiotic Fiber: 6 different plant-based fibers to feed your good bacteria.
The Probiotic: 9 diverse strains to support digestion and regularity.
It’s my favorite way to "bridge the gap" and ensure my gut is supported even when my schedule is chaotic. I'll have samples and more info at our upcoming chats!
I would love to see you at the Watauga Community Center this month for our Healthy Chats. These are casual, informative, and a great way to connect with others on the same journey.

Q: Why should you never iron a four-leaf clover?
A: Because you shouldn't press your luck! ☘️

You may feel stronger and more energized, or you may feel like life completely got in the way. Either way, you are welcome, you are not behind, and there is always something kind and simple you...
