  1. Perimenopause Wellness
    With over 1 million women entering menopause annually in the U.S., the conversation around managing symptoms like hot flashes and mood changes is gaining traction. Natural supplements, hormone therapy, and mindfulness practices are empowering women to navigate this life stage with confidence. I don't know about you, but I am frustrated with all the things that happen in this stage. None of my bloodwork show any reason for the changes I have and my doctors just keep saying my hormones are fine, my thyroid is fine, everything is fine, it must be how you eat or lack of exercise. BS! I call BS! I exercise 4-5 days a week, I eat pretty healthy most of the time and yet, my weight keeps increasing and my fluffiness is showing. My muscles are getting stronger, but the body fat percentage is raising faster than any muscle mass. What is happening? Anyone feeling me on this? There is hope, for there are lots of new researching doctors out there actually working to find and support women! The previous studies were on men or rats. Go figure. Keep doing what you know is right! Whole food, exercise, sleep, and stay hydrated. Your consistency will win soon!
  2. Prioritizing Sleep💤
    Sleep is the foundation of good health, yet many women over 40 struggle with insomnia. Innovative tools like sleep trackers and guided meditations can help improve sleep quality, boosting overall well-being. Avoid TV, phones, and other distracting things while in bed. Sleep is a priority for me. I have my phone turn off at 845pm where no one can reach me, except for 2 numbers I select; my son and my husband. All others straight to voicemail, and my apps turn off where I can't play on my phone either. How is that for taking control of tempting bad habits! I challenge you, try it.

Simple Recipe: Chopped Chickpea Salad 🥗

This vibrant salad is perfect for a quick, nutrient-packed meal:

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 can chickpeas (rinsed)
    • 1 cup chopped parsley
    • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
    • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
    • Pomegranate molasses vinaigrette (or your favorite light dressing)
  • Instructions:
    Combine all ingredients in a bowl, toss with dressing, and enjoy! This salad is rich in fiber and protein, making it a great option for lunch or dinner.

Fitness Tip: Build Strong Bones with Weight-Bearing Exercises 🏋️‍♀️

Bone health becomes increasingly important after 40. Incorporate weight-bearing activities like walking, yoga, or resistance training into your routine to maintain bone density. Start small—just 15 minutes a day can make a difference. I love using the vibration plate for bone density building. For equal time on and off adds best bone density results. For example, if you do a 1-2 minutes vibration squat or walking, then take 1-2 minutes off before resuming. I read this from a doctor specifically talking about building bone density. He also mentioned not going at the highest frequency but between 35-40 MHz.
