Early detection is key. Regular screenings and self-exams can save lives.

Breast Cancer Awareness: Knowledge is Power

Did you know?

  • 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
  • When detected early, the 5-year survival rate for breast cancer is 99%.
  • Men can get breast cancer too. In 2024, an estimated 2,790 men will be diagnosed.

These statistics highlight the importance of regular screenings and early detection. Remember, knowledge is power in the fight against breast cancer.

Empowering Action: Breast Health Tips

  1. Schedule Your Mammogram: If you're 40 or older, make sure you're getting annual mammograms.
  2. Know Your Normal: Perform monthly self-exams to familiarize yourself with your breast tissue. Report any changes to your doctor.
  3. Stay Active: Regular exercise can lower your risk of breast cancer. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week.
  4. Nourish Your Body: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help reduce your risk. Try to limit alcohol and processed foods.
  5. Manage Stress: Chronic stress can impact your overall health. Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation or yoga.

Challenge of the Week: Pink Power Walk

This week, let's get moving for breast health! Challenge yourself to a 30-minute walk each day. Wear pink to show your support and spread awareness. Share your Pink Power Walk photos in our Facebook group to inspire others!
